I received a really nice package from LUSH full of products to try out! The Christmas collection looked so nice I was really impatient to test everything.
Especially the blue “shoot for the stars” bath bomb with real golden stars immediately caught my eye. The stars even remained the same in the water when everything else was already dissolved! The whole bath tub was full of glitter, totally blue and containing golden stars. I honestly cannot think of a better way to take a nice and warm bath while it’s snowing outside.
A new product at Lush are their “jelly masks”. I didn’t really know what to expect about this one, which made it even more fun to discover it. The gel masks are full of Irish moss extract that moisturizes the skin, seaweed, fresh fruit and clay to thoroughly cleanse the skin.
I received the “jelly FOMO mask”, that gently calms delicate skin and balances, restores, lifts and tones the skin. The first use was a little bit weird (I had to Google how to use it). The mask is really jelly, so you first have to take a little bit, rub it between your hands and then you’re able to put it on your face. It was a total new way of using a face mask for me. Personally I didn’t like this way, because it makes more mess than a simple mask that you can use directly.
I did like the effect though, my face felt fresh, calm and moisturized. Also, it looked really matte and I loved that immediate effect a lot!
I also received a big pot of a product I was really hoping to be able to try, because I heard a lot about it already; namely the “sleepy” bodylotion. What I read and heard is that, if you put on some of this lotion right before going to bed, you will sleep better.
This is what Lush says about it:
“You’ll sleep well after dipping into this dreamy lotion, made with a gentle oatmeal infusion, calming lavender flower and comfortingly sweet tonka absolute. A rich, malty and floral perfume conjures up visions of sugar plums and hot drinks topped with whipped cream while the heavenly ministrations of creamy Fair Trade organic cocoa butter and delicate lavender water cool and enrich the skin. Blanket your body in this lovely lotion before stepping into soft pyjamas for snuggly nights beside the fire.”
Of course I wanted to try this out myself, after reading many blog posts and articles about it.
I decided to put it on almost my whole body, but I tried to focus on the upper part since my test was not to see how good this lotion hydrates, but also to see if it really helps me to sleep better. In order for that, I needed to be able to smell it really good right before falling asleep.
I tried it several nights and of course miracles do not exist, but I did feel more calm and relaxed when using it, which automatically made me fall asleep faster. I definitely like to use this lotion and I would recommend it to people that like that little extra to forget the day and calm down in the evening.
Another bath time favorite was the “plum snow” bubble bar. The full bath colors purple and smells divine. I wish I could make you feel the relaxation yourself! What I love about Lush’s bubble bars is 1) the way you can crumble them under running water, and 2) that you can use them multiple times. I always cut a piece to use, about 1/4 each time.
The last thing I wanted to show are 2 lip products: one is a scrub and the other one is a lip tint, both solid. I already tried their “santa baby” lip scrub last year and it did wonders for my lips in the sense that they were clean, moisturized and had a pretty tint.
This time I received the “sugar plum fairy” range, a totally different look and taste which I liked a lot! Again, my lips felt super smooth and moisturized, because all dead skin cells were gone in a gentle way. Personally I prefer the liquid versions instead of the solid ones, but the effect is the same of course.
